Triple Play: Half Square Triangle Table Runners

Triple Play is a favorite tradition here at Missouri Star. Once a month, Jenny, Misty, and Natalie each demonstrate their own, unique spin on a favorite block, technique, or template. In this episode, the talented Doan ladies show off three fabulous new table runners made with half-square triangles.

Misty’s Spinning Star Table Runner is made with 5 inch squares of precut fabric. She uses a charm pack from Happiness Blooms by Deb Strain for Moda Fabrics and sews her HSTs using the four-at-a-time method.

Jenny’s Half-Square Triangle Star is designed for 2.5 inch jelly roll strips. Her fabric is Blue Escape by Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts for Andover Fabric, and her half-square triangles are made with strip sets and the clearly perfect slotter trimmer B. This is an extra long table runner, perfect for Jenny's big family table.

Natalie’s Migration Table Runner features modern flying geese made with fat quarters. She uses Essex Linen from the Around the Bend line by Anna Graham for Robert Kaufman Fabrics, and her HSTs are made with the easy-eight method.
