I purchased this for my wife 2.5 years ago, and she loves it. She’s made about 10 quilts in that span, and a few other projects. It’s been great. Yesterday the tension adjustment knob popped off. Looking at the slotted stud it is attached to, the side walls left after the slot is cut is extremely thin, which contributed to this failure. Not the end of the world… all mechanical things break sometime. Weakness number 2 comes in checking for warranty. Obviously a materials defect, I wanted to see what the BabyLock warranty was. But you can’t find it… all sites just refer you to your dealer. The warranty link on MSQs page points you to a dealer link that customers cannot access. So we found an authorized BL repair station (we’re several states south of Missouri), who told us they’ll contact MSQ and check on it. Why make it so hard to know if you’re covered? The only other oddity is bobbins. We’ve ordered several specifically listed for Baby Lock, but they don’t fit. They are more like regular Brother bobbins. Hope to get some from the repair facility when we pick up the machine. It’s a 5-Star machine as far as how it sews. The flimsy internal part isn’t a huge deal, but should be covered as defective. We hope it will. It’s downright silly that a plain and simple warranty isn’t easily accessible and printed into the manual like virtually all other devices. Honestly don’t know what to make of the special bobbins, they seem a higher capacity, but are hard to find (at least it has been here). These little annoyances cost one star to an otherwise stellar sewing machine.

Love this machine! Excellent to quilt with using walking foot or hinged foot. Its a work horse!!

I bought this machine two years ago and have had it in the shop four time already. When it's working right it's fabulous machine. Each time it messes up I have to go back to my twenty year old Singer.

It is a solid machine, and so very fast!
