For generations, the world’s best millstones all came from one quarry in France. And when that quarry ran out, they did just what we would do: They used the scraps to make patchwork stones with cement sashing and iron binding—pretty to look at and practical, too. This week, Natalie is stitching up her own pieced “millstones” with precut layer cake squares from West Palm Beach by Jennifer Paganelli for Windham Fabrics. These blocks are easy to make, with enough left over for a bonus table runner!
