The answer will depend on the size of quilt that you want to make, how many seams your pattern requires, and whether or not you will be adding additional fabric yardage for borders, cornerstones, or other design elements. 

Having said that, here is a good estimation of how many quilting charm packs you will need to make a charm pack quilt in your preferred size:

Baby: 1 charm pack
Crib: 2 charm packs
Lap: 3 charm packs
Twin: 4 charm packs
Queen: 5-6 charm packs
King: 6-7 charm packs
