I found this pattern in the Block idea book and thought it would be perfect for someone whose birthday is in March (tulip season!). For my tulips, I used Amanda Murphy's "Frolic Favorites" 10-inch layer cake by Benartex, which I found online at MSQC. I love how cheery this scrappy quilt feels when I look at it. I wanted to make the quilt a little bit smaller so I only made 5 tulips across, instead of the original 7 as the pattern describes. I'm eager to see how the top stitching will look on the solid border. In hindsight I think the Kona solid in Berry would have been a better match with the plum color found in the tulip fabric. Oh well! Here are a couple of pictures of the quilt top when I finished it. For size reference, it's laying atop my queen size bed. Thank you for such a clearly written pattern and video tutorial which made it simple to follow. This is only the second quilt I've made, and I thought the pattern and video made it a snap to complete!
