Zero on marking pins??

The zero for A, 1 for B, 2 for C is really messing with my brain as I have assigned 1 to 26 for alphabetical sequence All. My. Life. I gave three stars for giving four sets, in a handy case, with a non-pointy shape. I can't get over the weird-to-me numbering so I will be using a sharpie to erase one side.

The ABC and 123 pins are essential for multi-piece quilt patterns. I just finished a block with piece s marked A-L. And another one marked A-N It helped keeping things all in order

Not what I expected

Perhaps it's more the packaging than the product that left me unexcited. The pins are sharp and slide into even the tightest weave easily, but the heart-shaped container is not real user friendly. I ended up dumping all the pins out on one side so I could more easily find the numbers/letters I needed. I love my directional pins (from Fons&Porter) and use them regularly. I just wish these ABC/123 pins were as easy to sort.

Since you asked . . .

The concept of these pins meets the purpose . . . Since there are four compartments and four sets of pins, I would have preferred TWO sets of NUMBERS ONLY, and TWO sets of ALPHA LETTERS ONLY, not numbers on one side and letters on the reverse side. As it is I'm having to fumble around with them to get the correct side I want to work with (letters or numbers) and it gets frustrating. Also, if you're using both numbers and letters at once, it's a pain to sort through if a pin was used as a letter or a number when attempting to get them back into the correct compartment. I also have "Alphabitties" that I like very much, but they are not a pin and can/do slide off the quilt pieces they are supposed to identify. I guess I'm going to have to take all of them and black out one side.
