Missouri Star Ubushobozi Falling Charms Kit
Fall in love with this incredibly unique quilt made with vibrant African wax fabrics and give back to a community in Rwanda, Africa. The Ubushobozi is a women's cooperative that teaches young girls the skills they need to be successful and provide income for their families. Ubushobozi means power and ability. Purchasing this kit helps benefit the Ubushobozi Collective. This pieced quilt kit contains a pattern and Authentic African Prints for the top and binding, including precut 5" squares, by the Ubushobozi Women's Collective. The wax prints are a form of non-verbal communication among African women. Each print has meaning and they are used in many of their cultural celebrations and have become collectible.
Backing sold separately, 4 1/2 yards needed. We recommend Kona Cotton - Black Yardage.
The hand dyed cotton fabrics included in this kit are stiff due to the manufacturing process of the cloth. After you have made your project, machine wash it in cold water on gentle cycle and dry on a delicate setting or air dry. The fabrics will soften and the waxy sheen will dissipate.
