Questions & Answers
Ask a Question
Q: I have this ready to go for my t-shirt quilt backing. (I used precuts for the sashing and when I piece my quilt top with precuts I don't generally wash the backing since they are not prewashed). Would you prewash the backing? I started my quilt sandwich and then started questioning myself. I washed a piece of it with white t-shirt scraps and didn't have any bleeding. Shrinkage appeared to be 0 in one direction and from the other direction maybe 1/2 an inch per foot... asked by Roxanne C.
A: General consensus is that we don't prewash fabrics these days.
