It’s simply pre cut applique shapes (or pre cut fabric shapes) that are already in the shape you need and have pre-applied fusible webbing on the back of each one. So how do you apply fabric applique? Well, it’s super easy if you’re using pre cut appliqué shapes, and remember—you can always cut them out yourself if you find a pattern you like. But when using laser cut pre fused applique pieces, all you need to do is iron the fusible side to the “right” side of your chosen fabric, then after that you pick your stitching! If you’re wondering what stitch do you use for applique? Most quilters recommend the zig zag stitch or a blanket stitch.
Do you quilt before or after applique? Another good question! There is no right or wrong applique technique because it depends on the project itself. If your project is small and simple, quilting it before adding your precut applique shapes might be easier compared to a larger project.
