Farm Fabric

Missouri Star is smack in the center of farm country. The state of Missouri helps to feed and clothe people in the U.S. and around the world by raising soybeans, corn, cotton, rice, turkeys, hogs, and cattle. Iowa, our neighbor to the north, is the #1 producer in the U.S. of both corn and hogs. 90% of Iowa’s land is devoted to agriculture. Kansas, our neighbor to the west is the #1 producer of wheat, harvesting 363 million bushels in 2021. Our neighbor to the east, Illinois, is the #1 producer of soybeans. Even if you live in a city in one of these states, you don’t have to drive very far before you reach farm country.

We love that Hamilton is located in the heartland. We celebrate that there are gardens and crops and animals growing all around us. We appreciate the people that make these things grow. Because we are quilters and sewists, we express ourselves with fiber arts. Therefore, at Missouri Star, we have collected farm fabric and country fabric and related items that reflect our rustic roots. Because they are so essential to daily chores, most farmers develop affection for their tractors and trucks. At Missouri Star, you will find vintage farm fabric featuring antique tractors and vintage pick-up trucks.

Missouri Star also carries FFA fabric and 4-H fabric. Both FFA and 4-H are co-educational youth organizations that have their roots in agriculture but today are focused on leadership development for young people in both rural and urban areas. We get excited when kids involved in either FFA or 4-H and are happy to carry specialty fabric for them.
