EE Schenck, one of the oldest and largest wholesale distributors of fabrics and notions in the U.S., was founded in 1921 by Earl E. Schenck, Sr. in Seattle, WA. His son, Earl Jr. joined the growing company in 1945. In 1968 Stan Gray began working in the warehouse while he was in college. Eventually he worked his way up to General Manager. In 1981 Stan bought 100% interest in the company and became president of EE Schenck. The company continued to grow and launched Maywood Studio. Stan’s daughter and the current president, Brittany Gray, joined the business in 2014. In 2021 EE Schenck Company celebrated its centennial!
Missouri Star carries a wide variety of EE Schenck Company fabrics. For example, we have Blazer Poplin solids in several colors. This EE Schenck fabric by the yard is a poly/cotton blend that is perfect for apparel construction and works well for table linens. We carry several colors of EE Schenck yoga knit fabric. Are you looking for Bridal Illusion Tulle? We have EE Schenck tulle in several colors. Do you need some cheesecloth? How about burlap? Diaper Cloth? Mosquito Net? Yep, EE Schenck Fabric distributes these things, and Missouri Star sells them!
If you are working on an I Spy quilt or a project for a loved one who is a foodie, you might be interested in the EE Schenck Food Festival collection. These EE Schenck fabrics depict foods like avocados, chili peppers, pineapples, corn, grapes, and clams.
In addition to fabrics, EE Schenck Notions is a large division of the company. EE Schenck notions include sewing glue, patterns, templates and more! Some of our favorite EE Schenck notions are EE Schenck appliques–particularly those from Aloha Quilt Designs. These fusible applique shapes use batik fabrics. We think these quilt notions are beautiful–whether you use them in a quilt, a tote bag, a table runner, or some other project.
