Donna Robertson and her daughter Fran Morgan–a fiber artist–opened the Fabric Café in January 2001. They wanted to have a business they could run as a mother-daughter team. In 2008, they came up with the idea to design quilt patterns around three coordinating fabrics–one yard of each. Quilters loved these easy-to-follow patterns and asked for more.
Eventually Donna Robertson Fabric Cafe patterns were collected and published as books. We are pleased to offer both Donna Robertson Quilt Books and Donna Robertson quilt patterns at Missouri Star.
3 Yard Quilt Books by Donna Robertson have become enormously popular among quilters because the instructions are easy to follow, and the quilts come together quickly. The Fabric Cafe 3 Yard Quilt books each contain patterns for eight quilts. The Missouri Star price for a book is $15.45. That means each pattern in a book costs less than $2, making the books a good investment. The 3 Yard Quilt books also show you how to get the biggest bang for your bucks spent on fabric. Donna Robertson books include enlargement instructions so you can change the quilt from a lap size to a twin or queen/king size bed quilt.
In addition to being easy and economical, Donna Robertson 3 Yard Quilt books are inspiring. Take a look at the back cover of the Fabric Cafe Easy Peasy 3 Yard Quilts book found here. These patterns include nods to the traditional along with very modern options. The fabrics you choose can make these patterns whatever you want them to be.
Jenny, Natalie, and Misty demonstrated three different quilts from Modern Views with 3 Yard Quilts by Donna Robertson in the Triple Play below. Watching this tutorial will help you look inside Donna Robertson’s quilt patterns and watch how her quilts come together. It’s like trying the book out virtually before you buy it!
We love Donna Robertson Quilt Books at Missouri Star and think that you will too!
